Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Locket, including the iOS app and related websites and APIs (the “Service”). By signing in or using Locket, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Questions: hello@locket.mobile.

1. The Service

Locket is a private personal archive. You can photograph meaningful items, add stories and tags, and use AI to create studio-style images of those items. Locket is not a social network. Your archive is private to your account, subject to the limited access described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Locket. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Accounts

You sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for the sign-in provider account you use and for activity under your Locket account. Keep your credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or abused the Service (including upload or regenerate rate limits).

If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, your Locket account is tied to that relay address and may not automatically merge with a Google account that uses a different email.

4. Subscriptions and purchases

Paid features — auto-renewing subscriptions and consumable item packs — are purchased through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Apple and our billing processor, RevenueCat, handle purchase and entitlement processing; we do not store your card numbers.

Subscriptions grant access to Locket and a periodic allotment of items you can archive (for example, a monthly or yearly plan). Consumable packs add permanent items that do not expire with your subscription period. Exact product names, prices, and item amounts are shown in the app and App Store at the time of purchase.

New accounts may receive a limited number of permanent welcome items when you sign up. Welcome items are a Locket account grant, not an App Store free trial or introductory subscription offer. Locket does not currently offer subscription trials or introductory pricing.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting your Locket account or signing out does not cancel an App Store subscription. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions (or the equivalent on your device).

Pricing and renewal terms shown in the app or App Store at the time of purchase control. Refunds, where available, are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos, stories, titles, tags, and other materials you submit (“Your Content”). You grant Locket a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service — including storing images in our cloud storage, sending images and related text to our AI providers to classify items and generate studio renders, and displaying Your Content publicly when you choose to create a share link for it.

You represent that you have the rights needed to upload Your Content and to grant this license, and that Your Content does not violate applicable law or these Terms.

If you create a share link, you are publishing that item to anyone who has the link. Do not share content you do not have the right to publish. We may revoke a share link that we believe violates these Terms or our content guidelines, without revoking your access to the item itself.

6. AI-generated images

Studio images are machine-generated from Your Content. Results may be imperfect, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not treat them as exact archival replicas. You are responsible for how you use any generated images you export.

7. Acceptable use

Locket is for photographing real keepsakes — clothing, letters, drawings, toys, jewellery, photos, medals, and similar personal objects. You agree not to upload photos, write prompts or corrections, or otherwise ask the Service to process content that includes:

We check uploads and generated images against these rules. Content that breaks them is refused: the photo is not stored, the item slot is still consumed, and a placeholder image is shown instead of a studio render. Repeated violations may lead to suspension or termination of your account.

You also agree not to:

8. Privacy

How we collect and use personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Third-party services

Locket relies on third parties such as Google (sign-in and AI), Apple (Sign in with Apple and App Store billing), RevenueCat (purchase and entitlement processing), and cloud hosting and storage providers. Their services are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

10. Changes and availability

We may update or discontinue features, or change these Terms. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, including AI rendering.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Locket and its operators disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection law (including in the EU/EEA/UK).

12. Termination

You may stop using Locket at any time. You may delete your account via the Delete account control in Settings, or by emailing hello@locket.mobile. Account deletion does not cancel App Store billing; cancel subscriptions separately with Apple. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we shut down the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local law (including EU consumer law) requires otherwise. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA/UK, you may also have rights to bring claims in your country of residence.
